Miami, Florida - Brazil growth..

Miami’s airport and seaport show growth

Among the bright markets for MIA were Brazil, which saw 110 percent growth in cargo tonnage, and Asia, which was up 54 percent, said José Abreu, director of the Miami-Dade Aviation Department.
MIA’s air trade is valued at around $40 billion, accounting for 97 percent of the state’s trade transported by air. The airport, Abreu said, accounts for 282,000 jobs and $26.7 billion in business revenue.
Cargo traffic at the port was up about 5 percent in fiscal 2010 and the port hopes to see double-digit cargo growth this fiscal year, said Johnson.
